Unconscious incompetence is dangerous

The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.

This was a comment made by the Librarian of the US Congress and triggered by his observation of Stephen Hawking.

Some people think they can help others with incomplete knowledge but this would only create deeper problems than a solution.

Stephen Hawking never said this, this was a quote from Daniel Boorstin, an American historian who was referring to how people cease to look for further information if they are arrogant enough to believe that they have all that they need.
