I live in a unique country!

I live in a country where people dance when they are angry

A country where laws are passed by the majority to protect them from the minority

A country where politicians only open their mouth to change their feet.

A country where it’s possible to firstly be not white enough and then be not black enough.

A deeply religious country that leads in murder rates

And yet:

This is a country that transitioned from totalitarianism to liberalism without a civil war

A country where you can drive from city to desert to mountains to beach to subtropical paradise in a day

A country that holds the 4 km world record for the length of the longest train, the depth of the deepest mine and the length of one of the longest runways.

The only country to unilaterally dismantle seven nuclear warheads and voluntarily destroy its ability to build more

A country whose judges and journalists have saved us from total destruction.

A country where 99% of people love each other no matter how much the 1% of haters argue that we don’t.

You can take your body somewhere else but your heart will always belong to Africa.
