Revert back to basics

What to do in a crisis.

In a crisis you should revert to the basics.

We don’t know how long this crisis can last. Weeks, months or years. So it’s best to keep safe and just batten down the hatches. Be conservative and risk averse.

It’s important to just survive. Treat this like a war. So what does it take to do that. For me it’s coffee!!! 😇. In war you don’t see survivors begging for Loo roll !

Conserve resources first. Cash is important sure. But you can’t eat that. So access to water, food , shelter, safety and energy. Most of this is via shops or utilities so governments and corporates should commit to keeping these open above all else.

Arguing that we are over reacting is not helpful. Our perception is our reality. We have made our worst nightmares true.

Everything else is a next order effect. Like money. Cut costs and find ways to help each other while still practicing social distancing. Committed expenses are a problem of course and here over time I see us having to relax requirements and injecting credit and liquidity. The fiscus seems committed to this.

Beyond this is just keeping morale up and holding society together. Everyone has to step up to help. That’s the only answer.

There will be a vaccine and there will be an end to this. Just hang in there until then.
