This is cool until a man-hole becomes a person-hole and a mail-man becomes a person-person.

I generally adhere to these but always struggle with a collective pronoun for a group of people of more than one gender.

Is “guys” still acceptable ? So I normally use “folks”! But then everyone thinks I’m 80!

But I do know that if you want to start a war just refer to a group as “you people”. It does not matter if it’s race, gender, culture or religion, it’s fuel on a fire!
